Sara R. Rutledge is a Counselor of Real Estate® and the founder and chief economist of SRR Consulting, a real estate research services firm. SRR Consulting provides macroeconomic guidance and custom research materials and services on an ad-hoc or ongoing basis to real estate investors and fund managers.
Prior research roles include leading the economic and private equity real estate outlook as head of global market research at StepStone Real Estate, serving as managing director of real estate products for a data science start-up, and director of research positions at the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries and CBRE. She was the lead author of the PwC/ULI 2026 U.S. Emerging Trends in Real Estate and co-authored a paper, “The Impact of Hurricanes on the Value and Returns for Commercial Real Estate,” published in Business Economics. Ms. Rutledge is an active member of the Counselors of Real Estate®, Urban Land Institute, and National Association for Business Economics.
